I have used these in the fireplace all winter, waterlogged wood from snow... no problem. Green wood that hasn't had time to cure... no problem. These are my new go to fire starters.

I have been using these for years.
These things work great. Light any corner of the cardboard holder, place under your hearth and your firewood, and you'll have a roaring blaze in 5 - 10 minutes. Beats messing around with newspapers to get your fire started.
These have been great, especially when the wood isn’t very dry.
